Dr. Shanne Sastiel
As our in-office periodontist, Dr. Sastiel’s passion stems from promoting patient education. By helping his patients genuinely understand their oral health and how to maintain it, he has the ability to elicit real, lasting changes in their lives! Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Sastiel’s dedication to oral health developed gradually over his younger years. He grew up without access to regular healthcare, and many people don’t realize what a strong impact that can have on a person. Today, his biggest wish is to provide vital care and education to as many people as he possibly can.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After completing his undergraduate degree at UCLA, Dr. Sastiel achieved his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the UCSF School of Dentistry. He has also earned his Certificate in Periodontics, along with his Masters in Craniofacial Sciences. As a Board-Certified periodontist, his primary areas of focus are surgical dental implant placement, bone and gum diseases, and corrective surgeries. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, and the American Academy of Periodontology.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Dr. Sastiel and his wife Shirley have been married for over a decade now, and they have three children together. When he isn’t busy caring for smiles, spending quality time with his family is always a top priority. Other favorite hobbies include hiking, enjoying the beach, surfing, cooking, and traveling.
